What's New
Dr. Greenfield in the News
The
Nashville Zoo recently asked Dr. Greenfield to examine a female Lynx
(Nahlin) for evaluation of broken canine teeth. All four canine (cuspid)
teeth were broken and the nerves were exposed. He performed root
canal therapy and dental restorations on all four teeth, alleviating
the oral pain that was preventing her from eating her diet as well
as she should.
Since the root canal therapy, Nahlin has been doing very well and
can expect to keep all four canine teeth for the rest of her life.
Kudos to Dr. Moseley
Dr. Noell Moseley has been certified as a Diplomate of the
American Board of Veterinary
Practitioners (ABVP) specializing in Canine and Feline Practice.
Dr. Moseley mastered a rigorous and demanding application
process and certification examination in order to obtain the
Diplomate status. To qualify to sit for the extensive, two-day
examination, a veterinarian must complete either a residency program
or six years of clinical veterinary practice. In addition, two case
reports, references, descriptions of practice procedures, and
professional education records must be submitted and pass review.
This year's examination was given in Chicago, IL.
The
American Board of Veterinary Practitioners was established in 1978
to recognize excellence in clinical practice through the
certification of species-oriented specialists. Approximately 850
veterinarians world-wide are certified in one of eight practice
categories: Canine and Feline, Food Animal, Equine, Dairy, Swine
Health Management, Feline, Avian and Beef Cattle.
